I have a thing for dining rooms. I like all styles. Well, yeah, all styles nicely done, that is! There is something to be said for simplicity! I'm living in that "zone" for the month of January! Keeping it simple! Simple, not boring! Simple, not ugly! Simple, not void of detail! Simple!
This dining room is really cool and modern with a warm vibe! Look how the framed pictures seem to float on the wall! How clever it was to paint the top half of the wall a soft lilac and below the black picture ledge a dark, maybe charcoal gray. Adding even more interest to the room are the light pendants! The color and their shapes work so well here! The simplicity of the table is a great supporting element that allows the gorgeous violet florals, (hydrangeas possibly?) in those beautifully shaped vases to take center stage. Let me not forget to talk about the striped slipcovers on the chairs, that are made even more incredible with a contrasting print seat cushion on top! Great elements and striking details! I'm also really loving the wide baseboard moulding! Very nicely done! Very nicely done!
Here again, what a wonderful use of the elements of design! The wood frames of the chairs are a perfect mirror to the rich hardwood floors! Black typically has a very weighty look and feel in any space, but of course with the openness of this space and the white walls, as well as the glass dining table, the black leather seats of the dining chairs and light pendants fit harmoniously within this dining area.
What an interesting idea to have a floor task lamp serve as the lighting of choice for this dining area! Not sure this is something that I would do, but I can definitely appreciate the creativity! A more modern take on the classic bentwood chair isn't lost on me! Love the arrangement of the gallery framed photos! It definitely enlarges the space to have them all large and oversized. The floor is a great complement to the woven seat of the chairs.
Wonderful use of color and combining simple elements.
This space is clean and simple. I think I may would add a couple more natural wood elements maybe, to warm up the space? Hmm...
Gorgeous!
