Monday's Office

Every week I post an office, home or otherwise, that I find to be well designed, functional, whimsical, or just flat out beautiful.  I work from home and I'm always looking for inspiration on how to make the space that I've carved out for my own workspace more functional and well, beautiful.  I have a nice sized desk that I work from that is in the sitting area of my bedroom, and although I like the space, I do need to do some tweaking of it to make it not so much apart of the bedroom.  I don't like waking up and looking at the place where I work.  I'm sure this is not good for a restful sleep!  Besides, there is only so much that I'm actually able to get accomplished in this space anyway; so from time to time, I find myself working at my kitchen or dining room tables where I can spread out and really see my work.

I remember when my dad had these cantilevered chairs surrounding his dining table years ago, and I thought nothing of them.  I mean literally, gave them no thought at all.  Then something changed, I began to loathe them and thought they were the tackiest things ever.  Well, of course now, I'm quite fond of them.  Go figure!  I especially like how these are dressed in a little sheepskin covering.  It looks as though this is a dining table as well, considering the number of chairs surrounding it.  With limited space, it is common to use the dining area for eating, homework, crafts, and work.  I know my kitchen and dining room tables see multiple action daily.  I long for the days when I use to keep my dining room table dressed.  Oh well, another example of The Way We Live Today!

No matter where you set up shop; be it a plush office in a fantastic building, a well thought out room in your home, or even a dining table in your kitchen or dining room, be sure it's set up for you to do your best work in the most efficient and productive way possible.  And always be sure to...

Make it AMAZING!
