I'M NOT HORSING AROUND...

I know right!  "I'm not horsing around"!  Totally LOL!  Anyhoo, I am definitely in an "equine" place.  It all began with two wrapped giclee canvases that I came across while on one of my jaunts to Z. Gallerie.  I was first struck by "22 Hands" by James McLaughlin Way, an Atlanta based artist.  But everything stopped for me when I saw his "The Bow"!  For me, there is so much emotion in this piece!  Art is subjective and VERY emotional.  I am emotional and moved by all things that capture me and possess me in a way that makes me stop to ponder and contemplate it's existence.  I can hear my dad's eye's rolling around as I type this!  He loves when I get in these kinds of moods!  :-)  But for those of you who understand, I sense you nodding and saying "yeah Rhonda, I get it!"

I can't decide if he is bowing out of respect for a worthy opponent or if he is somehow simply hanging his head in defeat.  I'm not sure, but whatever the case may be he is magnficent!  Strong and courageous!  There is a gentleness about this creature that has captured me, drawn me in and makes me contemplate many emotions.  The question, ironically, is are these emotions that I'm experiencing as a direct result of the piece or are they deeply rooted inside of me and the piece is bringing them to my consciousness?  That's some pretty deep stuff, huh!  This is why I love art and feel it is a very personal decision when selecting it for your home.  Not to be neglected or taken for granted; art has a huge influence on how you feel and live in a space.

I'm quite fond of this one!  The black horse center right is the leader!  She's like "It's just me and my girls.  Now, what?  Don't sleep on us!  Big mistake, my friend.  Big mistake!"

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season!
Until next time...
xoxo,
Rhonda
