I have become a wee bit obsessed with black cabinetry in the kitchen as of late! Well, not just black, but charcoal gray and rich espresso brown as well! I don't know, I think it adds depth and a polished refinement that is so very different from what is considered to be a "beautiful" kitchen... traditional white! Black has always been that hue that pops right out at you! It is very striking and must be used with a great deal of discretion and edited and re-edited to get just the right balance. It is the statement maker and yet, when done well, makes everything around it shine! I am so loving it with just about every finish! The rustic look of reclaimed wood, the elegant sophistication of carrara marble, the satin shine of stainless steel, oooh and let me not forget the patinaed beauty of aged brass! It makes the kitchen not just a place to prepare meals and eat them, but another room in the home where life can be enjoyed...
