Well hello there! Yes, it has been three whole days! Why does it seem to be so much longer? Yesterday was my travel day from Little Rock and I arrived home exhausted! More so than I've ever been! It was an absolutely fantastic trip! This morning and part of the afternoon has been nothing but errands, errands, and more errands! I've yet to get any work done! I kind of figured I wouldn't settle into work mode until tomorrow, though. Actually tomorrow I am going to a Bunny Williams presentation at ADAC (Atlanta Decorative Arts Center). I've seen her once before at High Point Market, but I didn't have her book handy for her to sign it when I introduced myself; so tomorrow I will be prepared!
Anyhoo, it is raining outside right at this moment! I love rainy days at home, whether I'm working, hanging with the family, or just relaxing by myself. I find so much inspiration in the music of the rain hitting the awining that covers the bay window in my living room and the dance of the leaves as the rain drops splash against them. And so this is the inspiration behind my little bits of randomness...
How lovely is this arrangement of roses in glass cylinders showing the leaves and the stems! And how simple it is to pair with a couple of beautiful candlesticks and porcelain bowl. I love doing things like this! It's quite a simple composition that took creating a pretty tablesetting to creating an absolutely lovely one!
I think trays of any size, shape, and finish always makes for an interesting display with whatever bits of randomness you choose to include. Here it is done very nicely with small blue glass bowls of blossoms and that tiny floral shaped tealight for a bit more whimsy!
I remember when things like this would drive me bonkers! Yes, I am very much a neat, organized, clean freak! Yeah, Monica Geller (Friends), right here folks! Ha! But this, I adore! Especially since I have more random bits than I do places to put them!
This is something I have been trying fervently to get a few of my clients to do in their bathrooms, on their dressers, and bedside tables! Doesn't this simple arrangement of randomness get you excited about getting dressed in the mornings and undressed in the evenings? Well, it does me!
Again! So random and so deliberate! The white and gold with shades of gray! What items around your home are you able to create compositions like this, with just a little bit of time and a little bit of thought?
